SAVE SOIL
The surroundings or conditions in which a person, animal, or
plant lives or operates are called the environment.
In our environment, there are many types of essential aspects found which are needed for the good function of the environment. For the smoothly running of life, there are various kinds of crucial things we have to know.
For humans and other living creatures existence sunlight
air, water, soil, land, and many more components are required.
Among all of them, in our environment soil has been one of
the most important components because it provides us the food and for our basic
survival we need to consume food. IN body in this universe can survive without
the consumption of food because it provides us the necessary nutrients minerals
and vitamins for the proper functioning of our body and our whole life.
What is it?
So, Soil. Yes, it is the most component because it makes
food. Saying that it only makes food like an absurd situation but there are
many vital roles which soil helps us.
Soil
Provides Food
The ability to grow food depends on the soil,
more specifically, the quality and type of soil. A nutrient-rich soil-like compost means plants can provide abundant healthy vegetables and fruits for
humans to eat. The result of planting in poor soil is a poor harvest, with
plants suffering from malnutrition, diseases, and pest infestations.
Foundation
for Construction
Soil provides a foundation for various human
construction projects, such as homes and buildings. Soil also supports the
construction of roads, railways, and soil-like, bridges.
Raw
Materials
The raw materials provided by soil, such as
nutrients, microbes, and minerals are used by humans to grow foods, depending on
the type and quality of the soil. Ancient pottery was made using different
soils and sediments. Clay soils are still used to create modern pottery
and bricks. Abode bricks have been used for centuries. Modern bricks are
made from clay and fired in a kiln.
Animal depends on Soil
Animals depend on the soil for food, directly or
indirectly. Grazing animals rely on the soil to produce grasses while
burrowing animals rely on the soil to provide homes and protection. The quality
of the soil determines animal diversity.
It is vital that good soil management is implemented to ensure high sustainable production for economic viability and maintain or improve soil fertility. There is also a growing concern about soil degradation and environmental pollution with high inputs in agriculture but these can be avoided with good soil management.
So I will be talking about the Soil Campaign in my next blog..
