âHappiness is the state when nothing is missing.
I donât think that happiness is something that you can buy or get from something itâs your inner self ingrained into yourself. People who live in the mountain and knows nothing are also happy and at the same time, very wealthy people also know everything isnât happy in their lives happiness is the motto of everyone.
if you buy an expensive house then the main purpose of buying that house is satisfaction desire and happiness and if we arenât happy then
Whatâs the point of being that rich?
letâs break down the HAPPINESS myth and reality with the help of philosophy
a born baby is the happiest human being in the world as the child has no responsibility and no opinion from other.
what I realize is that the reason the child is very happy when they are very young is that they are not affected by peopleâs opinions and peopleâs judgment slowly as we get older we get to know more about society and we get into that trap of materlisit9ics and things that society and internet have taught us.
the real life when you are a child
Have you ever noticed how happy a newborn baby is?
People around the world always think about wealth đ¤.
People have this thinking that money brings Happiness.
Happiness is not as we people think. People have made this term so big that people start to browse the internet about how to be happy.
Thatâs insane, isnât it? Letâs talk about it. I have been reading a book đ nowadays.
Here are some ideas đĄ from Genius
However, the productive and positive attitude we can share is that happiness is a skill we can learn. According to Marcus Aurelius:
The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts: therefore, guard accordingly, and take care that you entertain no notions unsuitable to virtue and reasonable nature.
Here
are the timeless nuggets of wisdom on happiness from great and eminent philosophers and thinkers from ancient times to the 20th century.
Socrates
:
âHappiness flows not from physical or external conditions, such as bodily pleasures or wealth and power, but from living a life thatâs right for your soul, your deepest goodâ
âHe who is not contented with what he has, would not be contented with what he would like to have.â
Plato
:
For the man who makes everything that leads to happiness, or near to it, to depend upon himself, and not upon other men, on whose good or evil actions his doings are compelled to hinge, â such a one, I say, has adopted the very best plan for living happily. This is the man of moderation; this is the man of manly character and of wisdom.â
Aristotle
:
âHappiness, whether consisting in pleasure or virtue, or both, is more often found with those who are highly cultivated in their minds and their character, and have only a moderate share of external goods, than among those who possess external goods to a useless extent but are deficient in higher qualities.â
As we can notice, Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle, commonly described as the Big Three of Greek philosophies, shared an attitude of maintaining the concept of virtue-based ethics. Happiness or well-being is the highest aim of morals, and virtues are requisite skills for attaining long-term happiness.
Seneca:
âTrue happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future, not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is sufficient, for he that is so wants nothing.â
Marcus Aurelius
:
âVery little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.
Epictetus
Happiness and freedom begin with a clear understanding of one principle: Some things are within our control, and some things are not.â
âThere is only one way to happiness and that is to cease worrying about things which are beyond the power of our will.â
The Almanack of Naval Ravikant- Naval
And this attitude of being able to achieve happiness, comparing it to a skill that we can develop by acquiring a certain approach and act is still alive.
âChoose the non-emotional response to any given situation and see how much easier your life becomes.â â Naval Ravikant, a successful entrepreneur and angel investor, often described as âThe Angel Philosopher
So what did I learn from it and what I experienced?
When nothing is missing, your mind shuts down and stops running into the past or future to regret something or to plan something.â
Those who live in the past and future are the biggest victims of anxiety and unhappiness.
If there is someone who believes that if I do this then I will achieve this then I will be happy in life then that person wonât be happy anymore.
Let me give you a thought exercise :
Think that you want to buy a car. You start collecting money to buy it. Then you finally buy it. The desire has been completed then you have your car but you wonât be happy anymore after you have your car in front of your house.
Why is that?
Because you had this belief that to be happy you should get something or accomplish something. See here is the logic that works. There are a lot of multi-millionaires who arenât happy in real life. Thatâs a fact.
At any given time, when youâre walking down the streets, a very small percentage of your brain is focused on the present. The rest is planning the future or regretting the past. This keeps you from having an incredible experience. Itâs keeping you from seeing the beauty in everything and being grateful for where you are. You can destroy your happiness if you spend all of your time living in delusions of the future.
Be grateful in life for what you have. It should not be royal, rich, or lavish to live a happy life.
Happiness doesnât matter for trees. Itâs neutral.
I just feel good. Laugh, make healthy relationships, radiate good vibes.
I want to add more to it.
Donât take life too seriously because we are monkeys without a tail.
See the nature sky mountains listen to birds chirping, listen to water flowing, and focus on your work.
You are already successful. You just need to add a smile to your face.
Great saying âEnlightenment is a space between your thoughtsâ
